Kellogg Community College welcomes families and kids of all ages to a night of free Halloween festivities including trick-or-treating at the 450 North Ave. campus in Battle Creek.
Other than commencement, this is typically the biggest event of the year at KCC, usually drawing upwards of two thousand people.
“Each year it continues to grow, so we have been working hard to get ready,” KCC President Mark O’Connell said at the October Board of Trustees meeting. “We are looking forward to the community visiting our campus.”
The event is also a way for people in the community to get a view of the campus and find out about academic and community programs.
“This year will feature more trick-or-treat stations than ever before,” said Abbie Brennan, Lifelong Learning Program Coordinator and a coordinator of the Bruin Boo event. “All the children that attend will receive a bag for trick-or-treating stuffed with lots of great information and fun activities.”
Other activities at the event include:
· Face painting and games in the Binda lobby run by KCC student-athletes, as well as autographs and a themed photo booth with the men’s and women’s basketball teams
· A photo booth run by the Criminal Justice program in the Binda lobby
· Post will hand out boxes of cereal to all those that come, as they have in years past
· Fun new decoration themes in the hallways for the trick-or-treat trail
· The community can explore KCC’s EMS Ambulance
“The best part is seeing all the little kids in their cute costumes,” Simon Thalmann, Digital Marketing Manager at KCC and a coordinator of the event, said. “Bruin Boo has grown every year and we go all out with decorating the campus.”
