Local indie rock band Super Tan is making its way to Urbandale for a free concert Oct. 6.
The event begins at 8 p.m. at the Hinman House, located at 16 S. Hinman Ave.
Super Tan, which has performed nearly 10 shows here in Battle Creek and five in Kalamazoo, will be accompanied by bands Langley and Stilt for the Oct. 6 event.
Super Tan is made up of four friends who were looking to enjoy the same hobby while hanging out. Band members include Bailey Miller (lead singer/guitar), Will Bailey (lead guitar), Brenden Ripper (bass) and Collier Lynn-Hillman (drums).
Super Tan’s main genre is “indie rock with a shoegaze vibe,” Miller said.
Bailey and Ripper are seniors in high school and will be around Battle Creek until next fall, when the band will “hopefully head to Boston with Brenden Ripper so he can go to MIT as well as be in the band with us,” Miller said.
SuperTan’s KCC alumni Collier Lynn-Hillman’s focus right now is pursuing his dreams and playing with the band as long as possible.
The band is closing out 2018 performing at breweries and bars. They’ll also be releasing their first single in November and are more than excited to be so far along only a year into being a serious/focused band.
The band is looking forward to seeing new faces Oct. 6, so bring your friends and enjoy some great music.
