In October, the Women’s Cooperative of Battle Creek is hosting its annual Haunted Scare Affair, an exciting local event for fans of horror and Halloween enthusiasts.
The event will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Kaleidoscope Garden at the Leila Arboretum, 928 Michigan Ave. W. in Battle Creek. Entry to the event is $10 per person.
This is the third year for the event. Program coordinator Valerie Whitney said it would be fun to bring something new to Battle Creek.
“We were brainstorming fundraising ideas and one of our team members had gone to a haunted house and said they had to travel a ways to get to it,” Whitney said. “We decided that it would be fun to have an event here in Battle Creek for families.”
In addition to the “haunted” festivities, there will also be edible treats from local vendors like Makayla’s Sweets and Fox’s pizza. This event is for all ages, but the organizers caution that it may be a little scary for younger kids, and anyone under 13 years of age must have an adult with them due to graphic content.
