Kellogg Community College’s Lifelong Learning Department and INNOVATE Albion are offering their final STEM Saturday event in November.
The final STEM Saturday event will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Battle Creek Math and Science Center, located at 171 Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek. This event is family-friendly, free to attend and open to all ages.
The goal of events such as this is to serve youth in the community and get kids interested in STEM fields. The program got its start only two years ago but is gaining popularity with youth in the community, even gaining sponsors such as the Kingman Museum, the Air National Guard STARBASE program and the City of Battle Creek Public Works Department.
KCC’s Assistant Director of Lifelong Learning Abbie Brennan, the event organizer, said she loves seeing how much joy these events bring the kids that attend.
“Our hope is more exposure means more excitement in the STEM fields, that children will continue to be curious about what else is out there and also that they have a wonderful experience with KCC and INNOVATE Albion so they will want to participate in more programs,” Brennan said.
