What is the best way to enjoy the spring breeze? How about watching Agatha Christie’s Mystery thriller And Then There Were None? Kellogg Community College’s Encore Theatre Club will bring Christie’s novel to life this April for the community to enjoy
The student-led organization will be holding in-person auditions February 13th and 15th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center of the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.
Auditions are open to all community members (high school and up) with no experience requirements needed, just the passion for putting on a good show. As Encore president, Ella K Smith, comments, “I’m excited to work with actors of any experience level to make a great show happen.”
Auditions will consist of cold readings of scenes, so there is no preparation needed beforehand for auditionees. Brief character descriptions will also be provided on-site. There is also no need to attend both auditions, but one is more than welcome to attend both nights if they desire.
Rehearsals will begin a week after auditions, starting February 20, and following every Monday and Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you will be missing any Rehearsal dates, please let it be known during auditions.
Nonetheless, if the spotlight isn’t your cup of tea, there are many opportunities to participate backstage. If interested, please contact Ella Smith at k0444100@kellogg.edu or simply send a message to the Encore Instagram page (@encorekcc).
Overall, all members of the community are more than welcome to come and join the fun as Encore theatre club strive to put on an amazing show, “Encore’s purpose is to provide the opportunity for anybody to grow in the performing arts; to learn and express themselves, Blimey!” (Ella K Smith)
