Kellogg Community College is putting on a performance of “The Rocky Horror Show” in November.
The event will take place at the Binda Performing Arts Center at 450 North Ave. on KCC’s main campus in Battle Creek. The event is open to the public, however persons under the age of 18 will require parental guidance.
Times and dates for the shows will be 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 4, 5, 11 and 12, and 3 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 6 and 13.
Admission for any student with a valid student ID, KCC staff, senior citizens or members of the military will be $10. Admission for the general public will be $15.
Theater professor and show director Brad Poer described what to expect during the event.
“ ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ is a super-campy rock musical about sexuality and being one’s self even when the world tries to stifle you. It will contain some adult language, partial nudity, sexual innuendo, strobe and fog effects and various references to sexual orientations and identities,” Poer said. “Parental guidance is strongly suggested for those under the age of 16. All of our cast members are 18 and up.”
Poer also said that this is an interactive play, and he encourages the audience to participate. There will be an audience participation bag for purchase upon entry.
