In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Kellogg Community College is welcoming students to decorate their very own piñata with the ¡PIÑATA PÁNICO! event today in the Student Center.

¡PIÑATA PÁNICO! is free for students and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 12, on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek.

During the event, students are invited to join the festivities and decorate their own piñata with international candies provided by the college.

Kristin McDermott, director of Student Life at KCC and the advisor of the student Kampus Activities Board (KAB), expressed great pride and excitement about hosting this event.

“Student Life had a lot of fun putting this together, and we’re pumped to see you all there,” McDermott said. “We are so fortunate here to have so many things that make us all different while sharing the experience of being a Bruin.”

When asked if there was anything she would like students to know about the event, McDermott said, “This program is just the tip of the iceberg in celebrating those differences and welcoming people to explore something outside their own background. So what’s next? I would love for students to remember that we are always excited to hear the things that you think would be fun here at KCC, so we can help you make it happen. The Bruin experience is what you make it, and this office exists to support that.”
