Kellogg Community College’s Encore Theatre Club is putting on a production of “Clue” April 8-10.
These performances of “Clue” will take place at 7 p.m. on April 8 and 9, and 2:30 p.m. on April 10. Performances will take place in the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center Auditorium at KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. Tickets for this show are $10 and must be purchased at the door. Ticket sales will start an hour prior to each performance, and the house will open 30 minutes before performances.
“Clue” is a comedic murder-mystery based on the classic board game. This show takes place in Boddy Manor in 1954, on a dark and stormy night. As the show progresses, it becomes quite clear that this isn’t an average dinner party. With hilarious characters, clever lines, and a phenomenal cast, “Clue” is sure to be an outrageously entertaining way to spend an evening.
Additionally, all of the revenue from tickets goes directly into the Encore Theatre Club budget, enabling the club to do even more projects in the future. Encore is a completely student-run club, and has put on this production independently through the resources provided by KCC. Encore would like to specifically thank the Al Brown Memorial Fund at the KCC Foundation for providing extra support for this production.
Emma Hamilton, Stage Manager of “Clue” and member of Encore Theatre Club, notes that she’s loved to watch the evolution of this show, from the first rehearsal to the final week.
“I think most anybody would enjoy seeing this show,” Hamilton continued. “I have really been enjoying watching it myself and I can’t wait for opening night, to get to see it all together with everything our director has been working so hard on.”
While “Clue” may be a hilarious show, it does contain some darker themes. This play may not be suitable for young children.
“Clue” is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn and written by Sandy Rustin, with additional Material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price.
