After sweeping Lake Michigan Community college in three sets on Thursday night, KCC’s women’s volleyball team improves to 5-6 on the year. During the Bruins win, freshman outside hitter Grace Hall logged 11 kills, passing 100 kills for the year so far.
Hall led the team in scoring with 11.5 points, followed by sophomore outside hitter Madison Ducheney with 11 points. Sophomore setter Madison Jones led the team in assists with 26. Freshman defensive specialist Haidyn Markos led the team in digs with 11.
“We will take the win, but still need some work on our discipline in certain aspects of the game,” Head Coach Tom VanWienen said. “Not as clean as I would like to see it as a coach. Ladies showed some grit staying calm and kept working together to get the W.”
KCC won the first set 25-21, the second 25-23, and then completed the sweep 25-16.
The Bruins play on the road tonight against a Kalamazoo Valley team that just suffered a 3-2 defeat to Jackson College.
