Kellogg Community College’s annual Bruin Blast welcome back event for students is this Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.
Activities at this year’s event include a mechanical surfboard, an inflatable ax throwing area, and raffles for a 40-inch TV, an iPad mini and other prizes. Returning favorites such as free food and T-shirts will also be offered. (Note: To enter raffles and get free stuff, you must have a current KCC student ID. Student Life Manager Drew Hutchinson said the focus of the event is on giving students the resources they need to be successful throughout the year, while also creating fun for the students and staff.
The event this year again incorporates the college’s Civic Engagement Fair, which brings community organizations to campus to connect with students for possible volunteer opportunities that can help them complete service-learning requirements. Many student clubs will also be in attendance to provide information about how students can get involved with the community on campus and meet students with similar interests.
