Student IDs are helpful on campus and around town.
At KCC, students need an updated ID to check out materials at the library, print in the computer lab, use the Testing and Assessment Center, use the Miller Building facilities, make certain bookstore purchases and receive discounts on admission fees at some college events. When there are activities on campus, like Bruin Blast, a current ID is required to enter for prizes, get a free T-shirt and free food.
Off campus, lots of local businesses give student discounts that require a student ID.
“Lots of students forget to ask businesses around town if they have a student discount, and you’d be surprised how many do,” KCC Admissions Specialist Rose Dulaney said.
Dulaney said getting a new or updated student ID takes around a minute at most.
“It’s super easy,” she said.
Students seeking a new or updated KCC student ID card should go to the Admission office in the Hub on the North Avenue campus. ID services are also offered at KCC’s regional centers in Albion, Coldwater and Hastings.
Students will need to bring a government-issued ID, and the staff will check to see that the student is registered in classes and take a picture for the ID. A sticker with the current semester will be placed on the back of the ID.
Students who need an updated ID can go to the same Admissions office with their KCC ID and the staff will check their enrollment and put an updated sticker on the back.
