The Haunted History of Kalamazoo Tour returns to Bronson Park this month to tell the historical haunted past of Kalamazoo.
The authors of “Haunted History of Kalamazoo” will present an evening of history mixed with the paranormal world. Each tour guide will portray a member of Kalamazoo’s past to heighten the historical experience.
The tour consists of stories such as “Bronson Park’s dark past,”“The ghost of Thelma,”“The music legend who roams the Radisson Hotel” and others covering nearly a dozen additional haunted locations. Upcoming tours begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20; Tuesday, Oct. 30; and Saturday, Nov. 3.
All tours require advanced registration and payment. Tickets are $10 when purchased online; walk-up tickets are $15.
The Rev. Robert DuShane, a “Haunted History of Kalamazoo” author, tour guide and the owner of Paranormal Michigan, says the tours aren’t scary, but are intended to be more of a historical experience of the haunted past of Kalamazoo.
“There isn’t anything ‘scary’ about our tour. People will, however, be told about times when others were scared at each of the locations we visit. They will also be given the history of the site according to our research,” DuShane said. “Guests will be led through familiar areas and will have been given the history of each place we stop. More importantly, they will be told what paranormal activity has been experienced at each location.”
