Varsity Volleyball Team Starts off the Season with a Victory

On Thursday, August 23, the Varsity Girls Volleyball faced off against Glenvar High School in an exciting game. The Bruins opened up the game dominating Glenvar, winning the First set 25:11 with ease.

Once the second set began, Glenvar showed signs of catching up to Blacksburg. The Bruins, however, with the support of the roaring JV fan section, stayed strong and finished the set 25:20 with absolute authority.

By the time the third set came around, the Bruins were confident in their play and finished the game the way they started it, with an absolute bang. The Bruins set the tone for what is to come for the rest of the season. It was clear after this game they’ll give everything they have to pull out the victory.

Their teamwork Is all thanks to the strong bond they share on and off the court.

“I feel like we are all so close which helps with the playing aspect and the team chemistry part too. I can say that everyone on the team is like a sister to me and I couldn’t ask for a better team,” said Amanda Lowe, sophomore.
